It was obvious when I was a postgrad student 20 years ago that executive greed was going to kill the sector. Permanent academic jobs were replaced by low paying casual work, but the exec paychecks for execs/admin got fatter.

Local communities are starting to vote against data centers. The more they know, the less they support them.
This is an issue that can motivate rural voters. They want to protect their land, electricity, and water.
