Revisiting Bartimaeus was legit such an amazing experience and this was so lackluster in comparison. It certainly wasn't bad, but idk the way it thinks through its fantasy world is so literally juvenile, this is a book for first graders really, idk
The narrative voice thing continued to be kind of grating all the way through. I love a grounded POV character too much to enjoy the focus bouncing around from character to character inside a single scene.
I don't think I'm gonna continue with this series which is kind of sad. I really wanted to like it!!! I'm gonna go back to wings of fire which I know I'll like
