Actually, no, I'm not finished: in over a decade of research I have seen how online spaces are places where friendships form and lives are built and sometimes saved. Cutting it off on a whim removes a valuable resource for people who face awful things in real life.
Regulating children is not the same thing as regulating social media platforms. Seems very important to distinguish between the two. However, social media platforms tend to be run by powerful billionaires, so easier to go after the kids instead.
Immigrants do not have to contribute exceptionally to deserve safety
Immigrants do not have to permanently grovel to their new country to justify their existence
Immigrants are allowed to be just as mediocre, grumpy or homesick as anyone else
Have some actual work to do now but thing to keep an eye on here is what this means for the roll-out of age verification - will this be mandatory for all UK internet users who want to use social media/gaming/live streaming and what (if any) are the exceptions?
It really is. And it's so bad for the sector. Workforce data shows people under 30 leaving in droves, and who can blame them?

Adjusting for inflation, the salaries offered here are much lower than I earned in an equivalent role in 1996, while the cost of living is considerably more. Shame on the Science Museum for not offering decent pay.
