this is how your message finds me, nestled inside a pile of leaves in the shade to stay cool and safe
now I'm thinking about drawing. and I don't have a sketchbook with me. fuck.
like I still hand draw all my shit because that's my pleasure but I'm still happy to see others sharing stuff from midjourney or nano. I didn't lose anything from them doing that. it's bringing them joy and helping them connect to a character, not rotting their souls or something.
just because you and your pals make art for the prestige and recognition and praise doesn't mean everyone does tbh.
honestly this is a pretty bleak way to frame engagement with art. as though being recognized as talented is the point.
avendarposting: awhile ago we rigged up fruit of Gamaloth to spawn spidery abominations on a random timer. they despawn after a while but depending on the rolls, a looot of them can spawn
anyway a player put 4 of them in one of the Great Houses and the PCs in that house are freaking out. I love it
if you think the only reason people make AI art is because they want praise you've never seen a discord full of MUD players excitedly sharing stuff they've made of their OCs because people like doing that!! for fun!!
people didn't pay artists for these before either, they just didn't get anything.
