#5debutalbumsSF1 Bjork - Debut (1993) Bjork, freed of the constraints of an, albeit fascinating, rock band, spread her creative wings. With Nellee Hooper, she developed a fascinating & imaginative world, giving her extraordinary voice full rein. Still sounds otherworldly. #NowPlaying
I'm going to check out some of these great recommendations when I get a spare day.
#5debutalbumsSF1 Stiff Little Fingers - Inflammable Material (1979) The ripples of punk rock took a while to reach Northern Ireland, but when they did they were tsunamis. Caustic, cathartic - the youth finally had a voice - an Alternative Ulster. Excellent. #VinylCommunity
#5debutalbumsSF1 Artic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (2006) . I do like an album that mentions Frank Spencer, just one of dozens of UK pop references that leap out of the speakers and make you smile. The album lived up to the rabid hype. #MardyBum #NowPlaying
#5debutalbumsSF1 Doves - Lost Souls (2000) Opening with a 4 minute instrumental on your debut shows some creative cahunas. Huge, atmospheric and epic songs with a psychedelic twist. Doves are worth a revisit after I've neglected them for way too long. #NowPlaying
#5debutalbumsSF1 #albumoftheday Guns 'N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction (1987) Pros - fantastic dirty rock & roll with guitar pyrotechnics that make your neck hairs stand up. Cons - lyrics that make AC/DC look like nursery rhymes. Discuss. Best track - Sweet Child O' Mine #NowPlaying️
#5debutalbumsSF1 Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables (1980) Sarcastic, cruel, acidic hyperpunk release which revitalized the genre. The 2 singles are punk classics but the rest of the buzzsaw, surf rockabilly isn't far behind. I guess we're the vegetables in this scenario. #NowPlaying
#5debutalbumsSF1 Hozier - Hozier (2014) Moody, cavernous new-soul from Ireland's finest voice. A warm gospel feel pervades the album with optimism and hope. Definite valve amp feel about the band. He waited four years before the follow up. #testify #NowPlaying
#albumoftheday #5debutalbumsSF1 X-Ray Spex - Germfree Adolescents (1978) They came and went in a day-glo flash but left a smattering of great 45s and this excellent punk rock album. The themes of consumerism, identity and disposabilty seem prescient. Best track - Identity #NowPIaying

I've heard of Girls Against Boys, but the others are a mystery to me. Would you recommend any of these bands? www.loudersound.com/bands-artist...
