oh yeah it's probably like that twitter thing where you have to put a period before the tag if it's at the start of the tweet (I think over there not using it makes it a headless reply or some bizarre shit)
the discourse surrounding this privileges the "chud" interpretation of the phrase (complete nullification of the author) when barthes' eventual point later in the text (that the author is "reborn" as a reader of their own work) almost stands in opposition to it imo
I really like how daytona doubles its competitor size on its beginner course, such that beating it is still easy but optimizing it with dynamic car placement and drafting speed increases is quite difficult
