The rail on the left is good.
The rail on the right is good too.
But the rail on the left will never be a replacement of the one on the right (and viceversa).
If you’re not already, I would recommend you consider getting a free membership to the Ontario Liberals because many don’t want to fix these standing issues and blocking forward thinking leaders (like what happened with Nate).
This Edmonton speeding study is consistent with data from Calgary showing per capita traffic fatalities have increased markedly since photo radar was restricted by the province in 2022 - Calgary went from being safer than Toronto to notably worse. Reckless speeding kills.
New South Wales and Queensland also have “Intercity Rail” but use that to refer to a subsection of services that are shorter than regional services but longer than suburban rail serving secondary standalone cities within extended catchment of the larger capital, like Niagara & Waterloo to Toronto.
It says a summary of the results will be published but the questions are a little weird. I tried to make it clear in my comments that YTZ is perfect as it is, it is enjoyable because of its small size, already at the verge of too noisy, and perfect for what it does like Medevac (ORNGE).
It doesn’t have to do with coal. In Australia, a state’s regional area refers to its towns and cities outside the sphere of the capital (someone in Regional NSW lives far from Sydney). Suburban rail services the immediate predominately bedroom suburbs of the capital city (aka commuter rail).
To be fair, Australia also uses the term regional rail for those distances not intercity rail. The Xplorer from Sydney to Canberra is called a regional train, the much shorter trip from Sydney to Newcastle is called an Intercity train. So Alberta is just being Australian.
?
Today, I’m entering the race for Ontario Liberal Leader because I believe Ontario can still win.
But not if we keep ignoring our big problems.
You’ve probably seen this but Transport Canada is undertaking an official preliminary public consultation about YTZ. tc.canada.ca/en/corporate...
