Ah, Mike Gianaris, a case study in “someone tell me which way the people are going so I can lead them”
(Generally laudatory, to be clear)
This is bad- the gambling industry needs to be treated like tobacco

New Jersey Dems seem to be giving up on the idea of passing an amendment that would allow them to redraw the state's congressional map.
Why? Getting to an 11D-1R map "would likely require uncomfortable votes and maybe court fights."
While more votes come in, these were the maps as it stood under the first batch of votes. Will map again when it’s certified — maybe sometime in between.
Likewise, it appears that At-Large DC Councilor Robert White has bested Ward 2 Councilor Brooke Pinto, with a commanding lead.
It would be foolish of me to declare that there’s no chance New Jersey Democrats move to redraw congressional districts ahead of the 2028 elections.
Did you know that a majority of World Cup games are being played on New Jersey grass?
Over half the tournament's pitches were grown by experts at Rutgers University. Only the best Jersey grass for the best players in the world!

At last, a review of the patchwork of state and local regulations that delay projects and drive up costs needlessly
I’m going to snap one of these days, and I hope it’s just an impromptu trip to a remote cabin in Alaska with some books to read to get away from *gestures at everything*

It appears that DSA endorsee & Ward 4 councilwoman Janeese Lewis George has won the DC Dem mayoral primary commandingly over former DC Councilmember (for ward 5 & later At large) and Chair pro tempore Kenyan McDuffie.
Physician John Cowan, best known for losing to Marjorie Taylor Greene in a neighboring district in 2020, wins the GOP runoff for the open and safely red #GA11, held by retiring Rep. Barry Loudermilk
(And yes, he implies the existence of Rep. Quieterjuice)

The sports gambling industry spent heavily to unseat GA Dem state Rep. Mary Ann Santos. She's currently losing her runoff for #HD117 by an 89-11 margin.
