It was a pleasure to see so many familiar faces at the 2026 Leuven IP & AI Conference, which took place on 18-19 May 2026. I was also glad to have had a chance to present and discuss my latest paper on trademark functions in the EU doctrine (work in progress) #AI #IP #trademarks @citip.bsky.social
The particular paper focuses on the use of LLM-based chatbots, the challenges it creates for safeguarding judicial independence and impartiality, and potential mitigation measures (work in progress). Full programme of the event: www.eur.nl/en/esl/event...
Some further reflections on #AI and the future of #trademark functions ā now available as a preprint on SSRN and forthcoming as a book chapter in Ilanah Fhima & Anke Moerland (eds.) Research Agendas in Trade Mark Law (Edward Elgar Publishing, forthcoming) @citip.bsky.social
