The so-called survey about the expansion of Billy Bishop Airport is full of leading questions, it makes you really wonder if the fix is in to give Doug Ford what he wants. It sometimes seems that Mark Carney’s strategy is to give everyone everything they want. open.substack.com/pub/lloydalt...

Anyone looking at the leading questions in the SurveyMonkey survey might think so.

Is the public consultation on the future of Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport a sham?

I agree. Though I must admit it was my natural home and the last election was the first I didnt vote NDP since David Lewis was leader (admitting my age) I cannot imagine that I will do it again.
Mark Carney spent 13 years with Goldman Sachs and was chair of Brookfield, all big institutions that, like JP Morgan, believe that infrastructure should be in private hands. I am definitely having buyer's remorse.
Electric bicycles give older people like me a low-carbon way of getting fresh air, exercise, and mobility. The problems have nothing to to with e-bikes, and come mostly from faster scooters. We have an education and enforcement problem, not an e-bike problem.

Reading the headlines in Toronto papers today, I get the sense that the honeymoon is over for Mark Carney. Cutting protection here, giving money to airlines for fuel there, promoting the oil sands, this is not what I thought I was voting for.
