The so-called survey about the expansion of Billy Bishop Airport is full of leading questions, it makes you really wonder if the fix is in to give Doug Ford what he wants. It sometimes seems that Mark Carney’s strategy is to give everyone everything they want. open.substack.com/pub/lloydalt...
Reading the headlines in Toronto papers today, I get the sense that the honeymoon is over for Mark Carney. Cutting protection here, giving money to airlines for fuel there, promoting the oil sands, this is not what I thought I was voting for.
Time to throw out my TD "friends of the environment" cheques and find a new bank, and it won't be RBC or Scotia.
Studies show that if you are over 65, you need more protein. It's no wonder that chicken prices are going up and staying up as aging baby boomers gobble it up. lloydalter.substack.com/p/the-demogr...

My @thestar.com column on the possible closure of Sneaky Dees. One councillor said it was the province’s fault. It isn’t Doug Ford here. It’s Toronto.
The survey is an example of what Yougov calls "aquiescence bias" "Leading respondents to a particular answer by offering the respondent a reason to support one side of the argument, and not the other, in the question wording itself." yougov.com/articles/453...
@mark-carney.bsky.social this so-called public consultation breaks every rule of balanced polling the main question lists all so-called benefits and none of the detriments. It is a biased push-poll. I expected better form this government
I believe this will be a major test of Carney. I voted for his party for the first time in my life in the last election, but if he is complicit in the further destruction of Toronto’s waterfront and the provincial takeover of Toronto he will lose a LOT of support.
Mark Carney spent 13 years with Goldman Sachs and was chair of Brookfield, all big institutions that, like JP Morgan, believe that infrastructure should be in private hands. I am definitely having buyer's remorse.
Billy Bishop Terminal is owned by the investment arm of JPMorgan Chase, the world’s leading financier of fossil fuels. At a time when we should be burning less fuel, Doug Ford wants to make it easier and more convenient to burn more. This is fundamentally wrong.

Anyone looking at the leading questions in the SurveyMonkey survey might think so.
