They’re calling it the quote on British politics that ended the need for all other quotes

Signing a contract you have zero intention of honoring from the get-go might be a viable strategy when you're Atlantic City's top real estate huckster, but in matters of global geopolitics there might be some consequences.

But that would be a misogynist position, & few people in the UK want to remove the rights women have had since 1975 and before in order to placate extremist activists, given trans people are already protected against discrimination on the basis of GR, of sex, and if perceived as the opposite sex
12. Now, when I see an exposé of the intellectual or personal failings of a prominent academic, I suspect the aim is often not to get at a complicated truth but instead to win points w/ "my team" by scoring points against "their team" -- cancellations as proxy wars in interdisciplinary competition.
Remember all those articles about how young men are becoming much more right wing and pro-Reform than older men? Well it turns out the opposite is actually true
Trans people in the UK can use bathrooms like anyone else. They can also use loos, changing rooms, hospital wards etc etc. The law also makes provision for single-sex services where needed. Obviously if you want to remove the single-sex services that support women's needs UK law will displease you

Thankfully @akuareindorfkc.bsky.social is on the case with the legal ‘analysis’ of FWS and the Code of Practice published by Ian Dunt. It makes some very bad mistakes about the law, including this one. And its failure to acknowledge women have rights under the Equality Act & ECHR too (oops!)
Our latest research, featured in the @guardian, finds young men are not overwhelmingly supporting the right - they remain the least likely cohort of men to vote for right-wing parties. Politics should stop treating them as lost to the extreme right. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
