We've entered the season of thunderstorms popping up from across the US border into Canada in the Havelock/Franklin area. Otherwise known as June afternoons. Fun map fact: the US-Canada border does not actually go rapidly north as you go eastwards acros southern Quebec.
You can see the trace of the original road in this photo & how the switchback bypasses it. When constructing the summit's professional astronomical observatory in the 1970s, a bulldozer towed the cement trucks up AND down this section of road.😳

Switchback. This is the switchback they built to avoid what had previously a straight-up wall section of the road to the top of Mont Megantic.
