Last night I became one of the new patrons of the Wilkie Collins Society. I did my DPhil on him 30 years ago so I would love to know who’s working on him or reading him now - with a view to organising an event. Who’s a fan? (And here’s a link to the Society website.) wilkiecollinssociety.org
It’s the lost momentum that makes me sad. The primary school-aged kids I know, *were* watching Ncuti Gatwa. They’re not talking about it now. It wasn’t the continuity references (big demon God who knows the Doctor, cool!). It’s that there isn’t new content and they’ve moved on.
Without downloading new pics what is it like to date (and/or be married to) you?
If ever I’m tempted to present myself as a mature person of taste and intelligence, I will remember that: - In the past three months I have spent an hour queuing for banana pudding and an afternoon watching Warriors of the Deep. - I regret neither.
