It's. Not. Their. Own. Money. We need to stop this myth. The Government _decides_ how much money it needs and borrows it. Tax is just one of the inputs for paying it back. Most other countries don't actually care too much about the paying back part either.
Every time we attempt to stream content on TVNZ+ I metaphorically pour one out for the poor souls who were suckered into paying nearly fifty bucks to live stream content on such a shit platform. Ironically it was pretty stable before the changes initiated to enable paid content.

Government officials tried to redact advice pointing to a "low need" for the facility and, in some cases, no need at all.

First two news stories Labour: we want to subsidise public transport (Nats: classic labour, where’s the money coming from? They’re bribing voters etc etc) Nats: here’s $60 million for primary industries (🦗🦗 not one question about where that money is coming from) Utterly shameless. #nzpol
Just remember New Zealand National Party have billions to spend on Roads of National Significance apparently but nothing to spend on basic safety upgrades for the rail system. In this case upgrading Wellington's network to ETCS, the same Auckland currently uses.
