Seeing the evening light through the memorial window to Leonard Jenyns (1800-93) in his former church at Swaffhan Bulbeck yesterday. Jenyns was the original choice for the naturalist to accompany the second Beagle voyage but could not due to parish duties. Charles Darwin was his replacement.
