Queer people stories is one of hardship and perseverance. Remember that you have an entire history and culture that has survived and thrived in conditions far worse than you face now
Things are bad but they are still better than they have ever been:
30 yrs ago we lost an entire generation to disease while the world laughed
50 yrs ago you could be thrown in jail for holding your partners hand in public
80 yrs ago we were left in concentration camps while everyone else went free
It can be so easy to lose perspective with every piece of bad news and forget that when you were a kid sodomy laws were still being enforced and trans women were thrown in prison for solicitation for the crime of being trans in public
