Thanks to @markus-gastinger.eu for the thoughtful review of #LongProblems in @poppublicsphere.bsky.social www.cambridge.org/core/journal..., which includes a wonderfully clear summary of the argument
Deeply sad to hear that Raúl Pacheco-Vega @raulpachecovega.bsky.social has passed away. A true scholar, and also someone who infallibly brightened even the dullest professional conference. He will be missed.
🧵New blog by me this week on #methane
How methane policy will make or break the #climate crisis
There’s no sign methane emissions are declining...
Our team’s analysis at @oxfordnetzero.bsky.social aligns with @iea.org finding about an implementation gap

#LongProblems don't have to be heavy problems.
Paperback out now.
Good to see UK moving new homes off gas…in 2028. 12 years later than 2016, the target first proposed by Brown in 2006. The majority of the 1.86m homes built since 2016 will have to be retrofitted.
For a #longproblem, kicking the can down the road does not save money.
