We are complicit in our own demise and in the exploitation of public issues. We speak too much to ourselves!
In 20 years of university teaching I have had one Jordan Peterson fan announce that she would not read any “sociology” I assigned, on principle, and one self-described “conservative” ask me to reprimand a classmate for her choice of t-shirt.

An interesting article, if a little fatalistic. Sociology is surrendering to philosophy because it refuses to engage outside of its own bubble. We only talk to each other, and only in ways that make it difficult for outsiders to engage with us. Considering our subject matter, it's quite ironic.
