Financial consultants Deloitte conclude: the environmental damage done by Dutch agriculture (โฌ18.6 billion/year) exceeds its total economic added value (โฌ13.3 billion/year).
Emissions of greenhouse gases, nitrogen deposition, and
biodiversity loss due to agricultural activities dominate the damage.
Not only does meat (particularly red meat ๐ฅฉ) have high environmental impacts (inc GHG emissions, pollution, land & water use), excess consumption also has negative #health impactsโincreasing the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.
Likewise, people who reported caring about health and environmental issues were also more open to TCA.
๐กSo itโs clear that a personโs worldview and existing habits can shape their attitude toward sustainability measures like TCA.
๐คBecause, in the end, everyone will benefit from a more #sustainable #FoodSystem
This is an important challenge for the TCA community:
How can we gain trust and support from groups where change might be most impactful?
Whatโs the most effective way youโve seen for communicating TCA? Did it appeal to different kinds of audiences? Let us know in the comments ๐
