Rollups occur when private equity buys out an entire market in bite-sized chunks. We've seen it in nursing homes, funeral parlors, trailer parks, ski slopes, veterinary practices, HVAC, plumbing, electrical contractors, roofing, etc. Bob Kuttner writes that state & local enforcers are taking notice:
