Cause seems to be that the nut securing the motherboard screw was mis-aligned when pressed into the case body, so the screw is at an angle and has a small contact patch with the motherboard surface. Flexing during shipping will have enabled it to vibrate loose.
Loving the attention to detail with the cracked tape cassette case. Brings back childhood memories!
