Alright, this wasn't quite what I was looking for today, but it's amusing.
"So You Want to Write a Fugue" by Glenn Gould
Et tu, Mitch?
I can't decide if this is good news or bad news, @gplusb.bsky.social
One of the more obnoxious technical conclusions I've ever provided to someone:
1. I have two systems currently polling the same hardware for the same data.
2. Both systems perform the same calculations on that data.
3. The systems produce different results.
Conclusion: Both systems are correct.
P.S.
Don't ever talk to me about pump efficiency calculations. That's a whole box of stupid that makes this one look entirely reasonable.
There's a secondary conclusion that both systems are also incorrect, but I haven't bothered to mention that one because (a) I don't feel like getting yelled at and (b) one of the systems in question has been incorrect for over a decade, so it simply can't be that big a deal.
The thing I want to find and still hasn't is an interview he did on CBC where he's deconstructing the fugue. At some point, he says that you can turn any song or theme into a fugue and demonstrates with Petula Clark's "Downtown".

Somehow just learning that DNP3 was developed in Calgary. Huh.

I'm amused. I'll admit that I did vote for a candidate with a party but my ward only had two candidates (both running for parties) and the incumbent is an asshat that I can't stand. The other guy was running for the least annoying of the new parties.
