lmao. wgme.com/news/local/s...
He’s always struck me as kind of…peculiar.
LOL WAIT WHAT
The notion that “no soldier on either side gave a damn about the slaves” is patently absurd & offensive, though of course it is true that soldiers much of the time are not thinking of the cause for which they fight.
iirc, he once tried to get (pre-Elon era) Twitter to investigate his mentions for “bots” & “trolls”?
…including the “independent” affiliation when there isn’t anything that clearly divides him from the center-most Democrats in the Senate.
“The ruling power is always faced with the question, 'In such and such circumstances, what would you do?' whereas the opposition is not obliged to take responsibility or make any real decisions. Where it is a permanent and pensioned opposition…the quality of its thought deteriorates accordingly.”
Okay, so obviously the original tweet is doing neo-Confederate propaganda, but because of the photo choice I am afflicted by the intrusive thought “twink Shelby Foote.”
I have no dislike of H. G. Wells or Wilde, but I must simply admire the sting of “Even [Kipling’s] worst follies seem less shallow and less irritating than the ‘enlightened’ utterances of the same period, such as Wilde’s epigrams or the collection of cracker-mottoes at the end of Man and Superman.”
