Happy holidays from the Helgason Lab. Wishing everyone has a wonderful festive break 🎄🎅🤶
Hot off the press from @helgasonlab.bsky.social ashpublications.org/blood/articl...
In this work we describe the development of new cell culture medium (CSFmax) that recapitulates the unique metabolite composition of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). We also reveal that autophagy in critical for metabolic adaptation and survival of CNS-resident ALL cells.
Many thanks and congratulations to Katerina Himonas for driving this work. For those who are interested in using CSFmax in their research, the bespoke medium will be available at cancertools.org/cell-culture...
Research is never a solo effort. It takes teamwork. It takes belief. It takes collaboration across disciplines, institutions, and communities. We know what it takes to beat blood cancer. #BloodCancerAwarenessMonth
