The American Diabetes Association still doesn‘t get it. And hiding behind your 501c3 status doesn’t work. You’re not prohibited from criticizing government policies under this status you cowards. diabetes.org/newsroom/pre...
Bari Weiss not beating the bootlicking propagandist allegations here:
Worth a read. Many have taken note of the growing solidarity in the science community in opposition to the OMB proposed rule. But this must be just the start. For an example, we can look to @sekahn.bsky.social, Justin Ryder & co who spoke up at ADA and were removed for it. 🧵

As many of you are now aware, an incident took place at the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) Scientific Sessions.

The strong collective response of the science community to the proposed OMB rule has demonstrated the broad unity that’s possible when we all work together. We'd do well to apply this same level of activation to the larger assaults on science and democracy. My new post: blog.ucs.org/gretchen-gol...

Scott Pelley on the Bari Weiss Era and His Last Days at ‘60 Minutes’
Poor and working men are meant to have women of their class to abuse and dominate as compensation for the exploitations and humiliations of capital. When you point out that allowing this is a violation of class solidarity working class women, you’re accused of siding with management’s interests.

Get ready now. We lost a lot of time because we didn't think it would get that bad, that quickly.

This puts all federal grants and contracts under the thumb of a commissar. It is profoundly anti-democratic and destructive. Political control will be instituted over science and every cent the USG disburses. Speak up now. This is really bad. It cannot stand. www.nytimes.com/2026/06/09/o...

It sure *sounds* like we’re supposed to live in a world where working class men can be toxic and awful and we should embrace that’s as authentic, and working class women presumably simply get abused. And that’s supposed to be ok.
New @bmj.com piece by me & @martinmckee.bsky.social on the need for the UK's public health institutions to prepare to speak up in the event of a populist government set on undermining our population's health protections. The tea leaves aren't that mysterious. www.bmj.com/content/393/...
