Tanuki are pranksters, hard partiers, and lovers of drink, and are often depicted with a sake flask in one hand. They may purchase it with leaves they've transformed to look like money, which then turn back to worthless foliage when they've left the shop. #folklorethursday
There have been countless stories of sea serpents in the waters around Vancouver Island, since time immemorial. In the last century, nonIndigenous communities have given some of them names. Victoria’s Cadborosaurus or "Caddy" being the best known 🐉

In Jamaican folklore, if a lizard jumps on a woman, it means she’s either pregnant or will become pregnant soon. Also, if one dreams of lizards, it means enemies, especially hidden ones.
