Bowser Island in North Van is being dismantled because the road is hidden, but it's okay if MOT uses it as a storage lot where trucks will drive in & out.
So many safety risks come from the fact that people are abandoned & given no way to live safely.

You'll never believe that the same far-right grifters who don't live in BC but suddenly started pumping up Caroline Elliott in the BC Cons leadership race have moved on to Curran.
There are plenty of hashtag-VanLife campers on the North Shore & up along the Sea to Sky. For some reason that lifestyle frequently gets a free pass & generates both praise & income on social media. But folks trying to get by on social assistance are demonized.
RV living may not be your idea of housing, but that doesn't make it less of an option for people who want it. People have camped on Bowser for a few years now. If this was actually about helping people, why were these residents abandoned, criminalized & then thrown into a crisis?
Bowser Island is a solvable problem. Some municipalities have RV parking specifically for folks in this situation. Even if we can't change the housing crisis or assistance rates today, we sure as hell can do more than give people a shelter bed before leaving them on the street.
The guy on the right is Stephen Curran, CPC candidate in the North Vancouver-Capilano byelection to replace Jonathan Wilkinson. (His campaign office is in the old Mo's at Lonsdale & Esplanade.)
