Well done to first author Lee Conneely and the whole team.
And an even prettier browser if you'd like to mine the data singlecellcannabis.latrobe.edu.au
Latest preprint from our lab: We've studied the development and functional genomics of cannabis glandular trichomes using single cell multiomics (simultaneous gene expression and chromatin status profiling).
This helped us to discover a previously uncharacterised developmental relationship between neck and disc cells. We also identified transcription factors active only within specific glandular trichome cells and predicted how they may influence secondary metabolism.
I am super excited to announce that I am recruiting a new post-doc to join my team at UWA & @plants4space.bsky.social to work on plant synthetic biology, with a focus on genome engineering. If you are interested, please apply or reach out to me.

How do cells break symmetry to generate new shape and form? Using the apical hook as a model, we @joeecker.bsky.social applied spatial and single-cell multiomics, and identify a regulatory hotspot in a transient cell niche that drives this U-shaped structure 1/8
