With "Godzilla: The First 70 Years" going on sale today, I’ve written a piece about the considerable behind-the-scenes legwork that went into its creation, which I believe shows why this isn't your typical book on the Godzilla series. www.patreon.com/posts/pt-1-g...
I see the restored version of "The Snow Woman" I subtitled last year is out and already (temporarily) out of stock. I don't believe I'm credited on the disc, but hey, my work is listed in the ad as "Newly improved English subtitle translation." ;-) www.radiancefilms.co.uk/products/the...
Miyako and I came back from California safe and sound. Had an incredible time! I did a quick open-to-the-public post on Patreon to announce our return to Japan. www.patreon.com/posts/back-i...
Subtitle work exploded when I got back to Japan, but I finally got up Phase 1 of our journey through California. www.patreon.com/posts/go-wes...

I'm going to shut this account down shortly. I'm already on Facebook, X, & Insta and those are more than I can keep up with.
The ramifications of US ICE raids will ripple far beyond America. As an expat, I used to point to the US as the gold standard for acceptance and tolerance. That ideal has been thrown out the window as the country de-evolves into authoritarianism.
Today was one of those days when I went into a studio to polish off a set of complex film subtitles and was impressed by how everyone on the team worked with focus and without ego, despite the pressure and long hours. It's one of the reasons I've been able to live in Japan for over three decades.
In the "old days," I'd have visited the set for Fango and done something in-depth. Today, tidbits lifted from the web are good enough for so-called articles. I subbed both films, which I'd rather do anyway. Just find it odd how much reporting has de-evolved. www.fangoria.com/kisaragi-sta...
