been plugged out of the nhl for years but heard the canes won so congratulations to @wademinter.com and @emmapartlow.com and also the hockey analytics community
I wrote about how @thepwhl.com should allow the newly expanded teams to draft their road games instead of messing with divisions, because it has a bunch of potential benefits (and I think it would be cool)

only got to watch the last half of this game and its prob the longest stretch of hockey in real-time i've watched ever and i'm more stressed than i thought i would be. y'all live like this?? on a consistent basis???
Thread🧵:
I've built a tool for shot tagging in hockey. It is very much inspired by @nguyenank.bsky.social's shot-plotter.
I built a floorball version mostly for personal use, but figured a hockey version would be interesting to other people as well.

meaningless thought: if u measure performance using three stats (for hockey: offense, defense, special teams ig???). you could encode that as an rgb value. oh yeah that player's going through a huge offensivenslump from #a0376f to #843c75
i thought a local whky team might be the thing that gets me back into hockey at least somewhat, but frankly i didn't expect it to happen for a long while and am now pleasantly surprised
the colors also seem particularly auspicious
It's Trans Day of Visibility today. If you're trans and are raising money for something (I don't care what it is), reply to this thread and I will boost you.
If you are a cis person, take a look and find someone to support if you can.
Everyone give this a share after.
the thing I ultimately really like about sports is the feeling of watching something electric happen and know that a bunch of other people are watching it too.
