Great news. Defeats the ‘No one cycles in #Edinburgh narrative” Ideas: 📍Zone extended to SW Edinburgh! 🅿️ use parking spaces too instead of only larger pavements (many more docking areas and be better for pedestrians) 🚲 more bikes allowed in parking zones (eg Waverley) where the is loads of space

Edinburgh just isn’t building stuff of this quality - the planting, sustainable drainage, kerbs, surface etc. Glasgow’s miles better.

See North Berwick this week - where locals have vandalised parking meters and proclaimed the death of the high street because parking charges were introduced. But inevitably the sky won’t fall in. Variations of the scheme below could be Stockbridge, Gorgie, The Shore or Bruntsfield.
