Absolute nonsense. Libraries are generators of enthusiasm. I can't tell you how many customers buy books from us after having read them from the library. Librarians are also some of our best customers and wonderful people.
Main reason book sales are down is that everything is fucking expensive!
A literacy crisis means people are struggling to UNDERSTAND what they are reading, not that people can't necessarily read.
