Sonic's stories turn to be the best when they are divided in episodes. Sonic Battle GBA gives time to each playable character to evolve. I think about Cream's episode:
Cream hates violence but in this game she learns, thanks to Emerl, that sometimes you must take action to protect who you love.

Of all Sonic games that need some cutscene revamp or re-animated is Sonic Battle for GBA.
One of the most heartwarming, but also heartbreaking, Sonic games IMO. Behind all the ignorant fighting you do as gameplay, I see one of the best Sonic stories.
