What a wonderful day at the #BESMove2025! Fascinating talks, great people, beautiful campus (see pic). Really excited to talk about the migratory movements of Steppe Eagles tomorrow.
What a great and welcoming community at #BESMove2025! Was a real pleasure to share a cultural perspective on #bird #migration based on field and tracking studies of raptors and shorebirds.
🌍🧪Ecology needs inclusive systems and equitable opportunities. Our new BES report shares evidence, lived experience, and practical steps to dismantle barriers in science.  Written by BES Network members, part-funded by Pride in STEM. Read the full report here:

Happy to be included in the ‘Understanding Migration’ virtual issue at Functional Ecology — alongside many influential papers 🐦🎉 #birdmigration #movementecology #ornithology @funecology.bsky.social @besmovesig.bsky.social 👉 besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/toc/10.1...
We're kicking off day 2 of our annual meeting with a plenary by @wmgvs.bsky.social on raptor and seabird migration #BESMove2025
Are you at #BES2025? Come along to our popular annual social event from 16:00-19:30 on Tuesday at the Innis & Gunner Tap Room! #movecol @britishecologicalsociety.org
This morning's talks have been on the theme of threats to migration and other movement behaviours. We've heard about adult vs juvenile migration strategies, dispersal and wildlife corridors, human-driven causes of mortality, prey depletion/displacement and more! #BESMove2025
Our final plenary was by @aldinafranco.bsky.social taking us through 10 years of movement ecology at our host institution, UEA. Interesting insights from the reintroduced white storks in the UK, and a brief mention of boulder tagging to track landslides! #BESMove2025
