Are the floodgates opening to Russians? Here is a statistical update - it does not look good, Italy France and Germany are the largest culprits.
Russian oil and gas revenues for April 2026 came in at 855,6 billion rubles up from 617 billion rubles in March. Month over month they are up 38,7% but compared to April 2025 they are down 21,1%. For the year so far oil revenues are down 38,3% to 2,3 trillion rubles.
The madness of transshipments to Russia is a problem that's unique to the EU. The UK (green) clamped down on this stuff early and the US (orange) has done the same. It's in the EU - especially Germany (black) and Italy (purple) - that this is rampant...

I guess we will get a video of the new Iranian leader soon if this is not the case. If true it reminds me of the Soviets electing Yuri Andropov and his successor, both dying after a bit more than a year in power due to poor health.

Russian oil taxes for March 2026 came in at a 1000 Rubles higher than in February at 8007 rubles per ton or 47,6% lower year over year. Taxes are based on the prior month when the average Russian oil price was 44,59 USD and the average exchange rate 76,85 rubles per USD.
