Just back from Netherlands v Japan. Awesome atmosphere. Dutch supporters are legendary - and their march in was great. But the Japan supporters REALLY brought it today. Both groups festive and welcoming. Perfect display of what this World Cup should be about
Some of the same folks (rightly!) lavishing praise on Christian Pulisic ... are some of SAME who dogged cussed him last year for taking time off. He saw the long game; target was to be rested for '26 rather than risking fatigue. Smart. Any-who, here we are. Enjoy U.S. World Cup run! Gonna be a ride
Our growing nonprofit (goalpleasantgrove.com) has an amazing opportunity: 38 of our kids will walk players onto the field at the FIFA World Cup! But there ARE costs involved: logistics, staff, soccer clinics for eligibility etc. Help if you can ...> gofund.me/1ed06c3a4
Our North Texas FWC Organizing Committee doing big legacy work. Our Golden Boot will live for generations outside the World Cup stadium here. The unveiling was today
Here's what I never understand about stories like this: when you have, like, $3-4 million dollars in gold bars you still manage to say to yourself: "Can probably get away with this now. Enough to change my life. But ...nah! Gonna keep pushing."
Update: More bonkers. Now 4-4. Highest scoring first half ever in @MLS. That Now covers 31 years. Good heavens
Your Memorial Day gift from Major League Soccer: an absolutely bonkers match where defending is apparently prohibited. Miami ahead of Philadelphia 4-3 before the break. Yes. Before halftime
Not exactly pretty, but FC Dallas finds a way minus two top men (Musa, Urhoghide) and take a 3-game road win streak into a long MLS break. First time since FCD wins 3 straight away from home since 2005. 2-1 W over Colorado. FCD now 9-6-8 in 2 yrs on the road under Eric Quil, a hell of a record.
Happy Memorial Day weekend, everyone. Look out for one another, eh? (And stay hydrated!)
