I have a longer thing I'm working on about this, with more data and stuff, but the key thing folks need to know: anyone on the left *CANNOT WIN* with any kind of content on platforms where the right owns the algorithm. Not just in politics — in entertainment media, or anything else.
But don't worry, the tech bros trying to rule the world are geniuses.
Consider all that Russia's military (as flawed as it is) has thrown against Ukriane *for four years* without eliminating Ukraine's domestic industrial capacity. And he'd have us believe this?
I am *so relieved* to read this, because my stupid party trick is rapping the entirety of "Principal's Office", and if I couldn't stomach Young MC's politics, I don’t know what else I have.
Does anyone remember the Old Days when people talked about ideas and policies? You need to be of a certain age, and even then the memories are fading.
It probably doesn't help @amyklobuchar.com in the Minnesota DFL primary to have centrist governors Mikie Sherill and Abigail Spanberger showing exactly what you get when you vote for that.
My favorite type of post is seeing what people are reading. Here's my summer reading list here, minus a few older ones. @juliabowes.bsky.social, @profferguson.bsky.social, and @unlawfulentries.bsky.social included!

I just received the terribly distressing news that Gordon Wood was hit by a car and killed yesterday. We were together with other Founding era scholars at the 2nd Judicial Circuit conference last week at Lake George, and he was as usual in fine fettle and as always enjoyable to talk to.
