Awful news. When I owned a comic shop, Persepolis was the first thing I showed people looking for a gift for their friend who hadn't read comics before. An inspiring and truly accessible work. RIP.
While driving home last night after a daunting Acme Comics New Comic Book Day I remembered right at opening, 11 hours earlier, as our customers came one said to me “you’re doing good work” & patted me on the shoulder. Seemed a lifetime ago, but I remembered & smiled just a bit. Thanks Mr Anthony.
