The NYT-Siena poll is useful in showing Democrats understand where the party's image is weakest. They're most likely to say the party should move to the center on crime and immigration - these are the two issues where Republicans still lead even at Trump's nadir (poll links in a reply)
Our poll showed Democrats were more concerned about the party being weak vs. too liberal by a 24/3 margin. Independents were about equally concerned about each, while Republicans overwhelmingly criticized the Dem party as too liberal wapo.st/4v6yJy8
