This was entirely foreseeable once HCWs realised that, a few weeks earlier, (13/3/20) they'd been deceived into believing FRSMs would keep them safe while delivering close-quarter care to infectious patients.
HSE, to their eternal shame, stood by like toothless tigers and just let this happen.

The proposals to revise RIDDOR’s list of occupational diseases omit reference to COVID‑19, airborne infectious diseases, or Long COVID. A significant gap. SARS‑CoV‑2 remains an occupational hazard in health & social care, education, & public‑facing roles.

The covid19 inquiry concluded 5 weeks ago that the guidance was flawed and that sars-cov-2 is airborne.
We need these for Ebola because the virus can be aerosolised and still each day are photos of medical staff sadly wearing FRSM masks. 🧵
