Car-free living helped me stabilize my life financially & psychologically, giving me more freedom to take on work that I cared about not only for a paycheck. It helped me discover new places & new people. I want that opportunity for everyone.
I grew up in strip mall hell on the outskirts of Lansing MI, home of the Oldsmobile. I worked as a professional driver through college then again after I moved to CA. But I couldn’t afford my own car due to low wage work, so I biked & bussed. First out of necessity, then because I loved it.

As a transit rider, I joined my colleagues and transit advocates in calling for the preservation of hundreds of millions of dollars in funding for transit programs that is at risk of being lost. Public transit is essential for our state's economy and addressing climate change. 🚆 🚍️
