Yesterday's cyclist death here in the Fauntleroy neighborhood is horrific, but I hope it refocuses people on how obstructionist the FCA has been in improving safety for all in our neighborhood. They have clung to some unrealistic ideal that the ferry dock can just go away if they complain enough (1)
For those that don't know, the Fauntleroy Community Association has effectively had a veto power on any transportation or housing projects in southwest Seattle for half a century.
They are the ones who prevent new bike infrastructure in Fauntleroy, the type that could've saved a life yesterday.
