Caroline Lucas: "We need to recognise that what happened on the streets of Belfast was being orchestrated by the far right, by Elon Musk, by a network of people who actually want this to happen, so it wasn't quite as spontaneous as it looked.. and that has to be stopped"
Don't tolerate the media legitimising thugs who attack people for the colour of their skin. They aren't 'anti-immigration campaigners' like the BBC said this morning, they are violent scumbags. www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/norther...

Case in point. The BBC right now focusing on supposed linkages between migration and national security rather than on the real issues: racist attacks, far right agitators, tactical use of one violent episode to inflame tensions in Belfast
"British authorities from Prime Minister Keir Starmer on down to local officials in Belfast have condemned that violence. But absent a concerted effort to root out the organizers and networks mobilizing it, those condemnations ring hollow."
Keep voting for us! We're crazy and optimistic to think there's still a chance to catch up. All donations made today will go towards medical supplies needed this week for extensive wound care. We're going through sterile bandaging and dressings quickly. 🔗 mygivingcircle.org/kabul-small-...

“Both African migrants, hiding in the corner as bricks were thrown through the windows of the property… Along with his daughter Paula, they were able to help carry them to safety as they were so scared that ‘they were too weak to stand’.” A racist pogrom in Belfast enabled by anti-migrant politics.

Bearing that in mind, we need a complete change in Govt policy. We also need our media to accept their role in getting us to this point and act differently from now on, telling readers what this means rather than either a sanitised version of that or - worse - framings that fuel more of this.
