For many LGBT+ people reading is a chance to read about a shared history, to read about people who have gone through similar experiences (and struggles) and a chance to reach out into History. I have a character limit so I won't even try and list the number of LGBT+ authors who enrich our lives...

I will be writing a further statement on this after I have written back to everyone who has taken the time to write to me about this. It is an issue that I feel strongly about about & one where I have previously made my views and concerns clear to the Government.
Reform ran Essex County Council have ordered libraries to stop their important work around equalities- such as promoting Pride. This is extremely narrow minded & is a chilling reminder of Section 28 when local authorities were banned from promoting LGBT rights. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
