Putting a silly smile on the despair of our disabled tent life never seems to help the donation drive...
But sometimes complaining about it the next day does.. So I guess that's what we're doing today..
Anything helps!!

When drilling yesterday the anvil kept sliding out of position every time the bit would catch a little.
I'm making a skid pad for it to rest on by rubber cementing some bicycle inner tube onto a piece of scrap wood.
This is still not advisable work holding, to be clear.

The skid pad finish drying enough to use, but I've been struggling with too much dizziness to try to operate power tools. π΅βπ«

Of course I know this is best done with a drill press or a mill...
But I can't even afford to get out of this tent and into the space with the garage where I could theoretically house such machines right now.
It's so frustrating being unable to afford doing things right.

My new cobalt bit for the final hole diameter chipped and refuses to cut anymore ππππππ
I wasn't even pushing that hard when it chipped it's just this Swiss cheese casting is inconsistent material to drill through.
I could /theoretically/ re-grind it but that requires a bench grinder. π«
The proper thing to do would be mount the vice and put the anvil in it...
but I don't have any way to bring the base inside the tent and contain the chips and oil spray
and the outdoors keeps swapping between death by mosquitoes and death by the sun.
