SoftBank has been trying to get a loan backed by its OpenAI stake for months. It initially tried to get a $10B loan and then reduced to $6B but now seems unable to secure even that.
This is likely a sign that lenders believe OpenAI is overvalued.
I think of this as the Anthropic effect.
I’ve taken a slight alternate view of doing 10x more with AI. It’s quite clear that shipping 10x the code or 10x the features doesn’t create 10x the value and could even create negative value.
So I now ask what stops us from getting 10x the users or 10x the revenue? What could we build to get that?
