The expected layoffs at Oracle to cut costs to pay for the AI datacenters to host OpenAI landed this morning, hitting 30,000 employees. Given Oracle’s 162K employees, this is an almost 20% reduction of headcount.
This follows a 30,000 layoff at Amazon and a 40% cut at Block in recent months.
