Taken in 1991, it shows a young Rhun ap Iorwerth outside the old Welsh Office in Cardiff at a Cymdeithas yr Iaith protest.
Yesterday, he stood on that very spot as First Minister, leading Plaid Cymru’s first ever government.
Every time I see this grotesque far right scaremongering , it sickens me even more that the BBC have been such a help in making this extremism a viable possibility while ITV and Ant&Dec assisted in making Farage a celebrity
Wales has a strong tradition of communitarianism that has been taken for granted and not really built upon. Time to return to it as @leannewood.bsky.social & Beth Winter have been doing. Best protection from extremism.

What did we find?
1. Appeals to communitarianism worked best to reduce support for violent extremism + was most resistant to counter-messaging
2. Surprisingly, we find that a religious message was not especially effective
3. Nor was a "tough" message that emphasized the dangers/costs of terrorism
