How have the political parties responded in their manifestos to the Community Energy Wales manifesto?
We take a look.

Wales has a strong tradition of communitarianism that has been taken for granted and not really built upon. Time to return to it as @leannewood.bsky.social & Beth Winter have been doing. Best protection from extremism.
Gruff Rhys, “I’m sure most have decided how to vote already. If you are in doubt what to do and like me intent on keeping the bigoted far right…I urge you to vote tactically by voting Plaid Cymru.”

There are events taking place in Tonypandy & around next weekend to commemorate those who stood up to the fascists 90 years ago. A plaque is going to be revealed. All anti facists (that should have course mean everyone) is welcome / croeso to come & join us.

“I would like to see Plaid Cymru start recruiting now to put forward a slate of Westminster candidates who recognise the risks that come with a Reform victory and who have the skills to put the case for a sustainable alternative”

You will have heard of the Battle of Cable Street, where Oswald Mosely’s British Union of Facists (BUF) were stopped from marching down a street with numerous Jewish businesses and homes.

What did we find?
1. Appeals to communitarianism worked best to reduce support for violent extremism + was most resistant to counter-messaging
2. Surprisingly, we find that a religious message was not especially effective
3. Nor was a "tough" message that emphasized the dangers/costs of terrorism
Every time I see this grotesque far right scaremongering , it sickens me even more that the BBC have been such a help in making this extremism a viable possibility while ITV and Ant&Dec assisted in making Farage a celebrity

📷 Great photos by @Ffototawe Chris Reynolds on Twitter.
Taken in 1991, it shows a young Rhun ap Iorwerth outside the old Welsh Office in Cardiff at a Cymdeithas yr Iaith protest.
Yesterday, he stood on that very spot as First Minister, leading Plaid Cymru’s first ever government.
